Hotel con Corazon

Hey all,

Just wanted to tell you a little bit about a very good initiative. My good friend Onno, together with a friend of his Marcel, has set up a foundation with the goal of helping children in Nicaragua go to school. Both these guys will quit their respective jobs and work and live in Granada (Ni) for at least a year, probably more like two. You can read all you need to know on www.hotelconcorazon.com

Anyway... they of course need €'s and / or $'s (not however for their own expenses... they will not get a salary and will pay their own tickets, cost of living, and so on... every penny goes to the hotel and eventually to a little boy or girl :) So, you are all invited to be very generous!

In addition to your kind donations you can also choose to party for the cause... November 18th there will be a very cool party for which you are ALL invited. Email me / or leave a comment here if you would like to party with us! (Oh... for obvious reasons I'm not posting my email address on the web) Hope to see you all on the 18th! (And ehm... the pictures of my beautiful niece are below :)

SoFia

A small rectification... it's SoFia (not Sophia) and she has been thoroughly inspected by 'yours truly' and ... She's beautiful! :)

I am now a very proud uncle of two beautiful little girls whom I will spoil quite thoroughly. And that... is a promise :) Anyway, take a look below.

Hotel con Corazon

It's (almost) official... Hotel con Corazon is now a foundation and I am on the board :) Finally, I'm an important person! Heh, heh, heh. Anyway, we (Onno and I) went to Louter twice, once to have a drink with Mariken, her lover and Marcel, after the 'Dam tot Damloop' and the other time to meet with some of the people involved with the project.

Oh this is as good a place to do it as any... THANK YOU EGGO for helping out with the documents!

Ben, the partner of our group (work), threw a party at his place in Almere. Great weather, great food and good fun.

Trip to Portland, Or

Just came back from a great trip to the US! I visited my skydiving buddy Michael (who stayed in Holland earlier) in his home town of Portland, Oregon.

We played most of the time, had the occasional beverage and could even be found in the gym from time to time... Ok, so here's a short list of the main highlights of my trip (oh, I brought my camera but only took a couple of pics... see below):
- went to see a Duck game (American Football), they played and beat Stanford
- spent a day on the river (lots of champagne and getting thrown around on the inner tube behind the boat)
- went skydiving at Skydive Oregon twice... total of 8 jumps and my first 'tube'-exit, thank you for that experience Stephanie :)
- drove Mike's wicked NSX to the coast (see below)
- went on a hike along Eagle Creek, it's 7 miles each way, we walked up and ran down... and I fell (see below)
- watched the Ducks beat Fresno at Karen's (Mike's (ex-)wife) place
- generally ate and drank way too much

Well, that pretty much sums it up... I had a great time.

THANK YOU MICHAEL AND KAREN! :)
