- April Budapest with my mom (her birthday present :) very much looking forward to that as well
- Snowboarding will definitely take place sometime, somewhere but those plans are still under negiotation.

Week in Portland
Just spent a week playing with my friend Michael in Portland. Had a great time although unfortunately the weather spoiled some of our plans. Went to see a Duck game, played a bit with his amazing car, a Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera (an amazing car!), went out for dinner and checked out Portland a bit.
Mike and Linda, THANKS! :)

Spa Francorchamps
Went to the GP at Spa Francorchamps with my sister and my dad. We left on Thursday and saw the practice sessions, qualification and the race. The weather was great and we had a good time but the race... ehm... well, sucked. The #'s 1 through 4 never even changed for the duration of the race :)
Oh well, been there, done that, enjoyed it and will not do it again.

Week in Sweden
Spent a week at my parents' cabin in Sweden... Very nice and relaxing.
My dad built a sauna (with a little help from us). All it needs now is minor finishing, paint, and a hole in the roof...

Running
Heh, heh, heh, inspector gadget has a new toy :) A pair of Pegasus+ shoes, a Nano and the Nike+ gizmo to log my runs... It's the shit!
Basically what it all does is measure time, distance and speed of a run and allows you to upload the data to the Nike website. Works great and really motivates you to keep on running and improving your runs. I'm a complete beginner and this little toy adds loads of fun to my running.
I will be running the Dam tot Damloop in September, it's a 10 mile run from AmsterDAM to ZaanDAM. I will be running it for Hotel con Corazon so if you feel inspired to sponsor me, you are most welcome to do so :) All the contributions will be doubled (by Wilde Ganzen) and go straight to the project!
My goal is a) to finish and b) to try and finish in 1h30 or less... I've got a LONG way to go before I'm fit enough to have any chance of realizing my goals but I'll be training like mad in the coming weeks... Check out my widget to keep up to date on my progress :)

Birthday party on the 21st
June 30th I will turn 32! Downhill from there I’m afraid... BUT I’d like to celebrate it nonetheless :)
As most of you know, I am a big fan of the Hotel con Corazon project and have therefore decided to celebrate my birthday at the ‘Hotel con CoraZon, Zand and Zee Party’ on July the 21st. I very much hope you will attend! It’s going to be a great party AND you will be contributing to the education of kids in Nicaragua (drink for the cause! :)
Tickets are €50 each, half of which goes towards providing you with a great experience (including BBQ, music, activities, location, etc), the other half goes directly towards the project and will be increased to a cool €61,25 by Wilde Ganzen. I understand that €50 may be a little steep for some of you, so please consider it my birthday present! I will be buying a few rounds of drinks to ease the pain.
Check out everything you need to know about the project and the party on:
http://www.hotelconcorazon.com/index.php?page=52
Please just send me an email if you’re coming plus the number tickets you’d like to buy!
Hope to see you there!

Pictures of the CHQ
Corporate Headquarters has been (partly) pimped... We've still got a little way to go, some lamps, a coffee table, a couple of lounging chairs :) maybe a few more plants, fridge... that's about it. Oh and we still! don't have internet (Orange... YOU SUCK!) ehm, sorry about that. Fortunately our neighbor allows to use his internet connection for the time being, so we are officially IN BUSINESS :)

Went skydiving again...
FINALLY... I went skydiving again this Saturday! So far I had made exactly 1 jumps this year :( Ridiculous of course, so now I'm officially skydiving again and definitely plan to jump at least a weekend or two a month. It's weird how you sort of forget what it's all about and then after just one day of jumping are hooked again... Anyway, did 4 jumps and thoroughly enjoyed myself!
Singel 512
i-link2 now has it's headquarters at Singel 512 in Amsterdam :) We are talking AAA-location! Heh, heh, heh... Freek (WorX) and I will be sharing a small 40m2 office on the ground floor. The building is from 1856 by Isaac Gottschild (a then famous architect who also designed the Westergasfabriek in Amsterdam), it's a protected monument but more importantly, it also houses a modeling agency! Yeah baby, great looking women walking in and out 24/7...

Logo
Ok, so after my first attempt at a logo we (Daan and I) made some changes to the original design and color scheme and came up with the following... Built (in 3D) by Volker. Thank you Volker :)
and molded into a website (soon!) by the Dude (Daan) himself. Hopefully I'll be able to post a link to my site reasonably soon... I gotta come up with content! Pfff

My wonderful Godchild
Little Sofia is now... hold on let me figure this out exactly... 240 days or 34 weeks or (almost) 8 months or 0,66 years old!
AND SHE ROCKS! Heh, heh, heh... She has really started to interact with her environment (and the people around her), also the little monster can now roll sideways and can pretty much navigate herself anywhere :)
She's got a short fuse and is ehm... rather temperamental :) But hey, we don't want none of that wimpy stuff now do we? :)

Queensday... literally
Ok, so once a year on April 30th, the Dutch remember that Holland is actually a Monarchy and celebrate 'Queensday'. In fact, you could almost argue that the only REASON why we still want to be a Monarchy is that Queensday is the best day for partying in NL by far!
Anyway, I spent most of the day on a boat with my good friend Afzal, our friend Silvia, her bro and his chick. Great weather so no punishment to be on a boat that day. Only bummer was that this particular boat was a bit too high for most bridges in downtown Amsterdam. So we didn't really get to drive (do you 'drive' a boat - dunno, someone leave a comment please! :) it on the canals.
ALSO, Afzal being gay and Silvia having only gay friends (me being the exception...), we of course hung out at Montmartre. Which is cool... but after a while I was in desperate need of some female company. So Silvia's bro's chick arranged the required female company... 3 lesbian chicks :( But hey, they WERE women and they were actually pretty cool to hang out with :)
Anyway, cool day!

Test drive
I just spent 4 hours in a Lotus Elise... Took one for a test drive this afternoon and LOVED it :) It's such a pure sports car. It weighs nothing and therefore has great power to weight ratio despite it's 1.8 liter engine (which actually still has plenty of oomph and a great sound). Anyway, I'd really really love to own one but probably can't afford it (just yet). And besides I wouldn't sleep ever again with a car like that sitting on the road in (my little corner of) Amsterdam... But hey, it was great fun, and one day... one day... :)
Beverages
We (Mariken, Onno, Afzal and Joseph) had a couple of drinks last night. Onno is back from Nicaragua for a week or so and we all had a little dinner together followed by LOTS of drinks :)
Oh, ehm... today I will be test driving a Lotus Elise! :)

Bodies
My sister (Pirjo) and I went to see Bodies...
It's an exhibition of ehm... well... human bodies. Real ones!
Check out: www.bodiestheexhibition.com
It's really, really cool! Incredibly interesting to see how a human body functions and how everything is organized on the inside. A lot of debate about ethics and stuff but it was done very respectfully. Two displays stood out most (for me), one was a display of all the blood vessels in a human and ONLY the blood vessels of that person (amazing!), the other was a series of cross sections taken every 10 cm or so spaced out a bit.

Daan will be a father soon (goodbye) party on the 'Veluwe'
We threw a (goodbye?) party for my good friend Daan because he's going to be a father and will therefor be lost for all mankind. So we rented a couple of cabins and went biking, drinking and gambling (poker) for a weekend...
We also threw Daan out of an airplane (tandem jump at Teuge) and I joined him on the load. Hadn't jumped in ages, I was hungover, had gotten 3 hrs of sleep and ended up with a severe line twist and in a spin... hmmm... almost cut-away but got out in the end and landed safely :) That'll wake you up in a hurry!
