This weekend I went sailing with my dad. We had a great time! Picked up our boat (a Jeanneau Sun 2000) at Heegh on Friday evening, sailed a bit and then decided it was time for a bit bbq and some beers :)
Saturday morning we headed for Stavoren where we would pass through the locks onto the IJsselmeer which is a former sea (the Zuiderzee), closed off years ago by a dike and is now a lake. Anyway, winds were very strong and waves pretty high for our tiny tub but that just added some adventure. The weather was great on Saturday, lots and lots of sun! In Hindelope we had an early dinner and then went out again. After returning to the harbor we read our books and had a drink and a snack.
On Sunday the weather was pretty fierce, even stronger winds, some rain and very little sun... bigger adventure :) We pounded our way back to Stavoren and cruised back to where we had started. Dropped off the boat and went home for a dinner with Mom. Another great weekend! :)
